MINOT AIR FORCE BASE EVENTS


 Here's some upcoming events.
 
* Celebrate Military Saves Campaign February 22-26 The Airman and Family
 Readiness Center invites you to celebrate the Military Saves campaign on
 February 22-26, 2010. The Airman and Family Readiness Center is offering a
 FREE piggy bank to the first 50 people to come into the center and take the
 Savers Pledge to reduce debt and build wealth. The following financial
 classes will also be offered:
 
"Home Buying 101" - On February 23rd from 1-3 p.m., learn all the
 information you need to get started in getting the best deal and financing
 on your home purchase.
 
"Build Wealth with the Thrift Savings Plan" - This class, scheduled for
 February 25th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., provides information on the Thrift
 Savings Plans various funds, how the program works, and how it builds
 wealth.
 
"The Fundamentals of Investing and Portfolio Management" - On February 26th
 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., this class offers a comprehensive look at the
 various types of investments and understanding the cost and features of
 various investment products. These classes are open to Active Duty and
 family members. Walk-ins are welcome. For more information, contact the

* MyAirForceLife.com Website Provides Chance To Win Prizes Minot AFB
 personnel have a new resource to help Airmen stay connected, informed, and
 engaged in programs as part of the Year of the Air Force Family. Recently,
 the Air Force Services Agency launched a new web site containing a variety
 of competitions as well as local information and events. Eligible Airmen,
 families, and friends can log on to http://myairforcelife.com 
to participate in a number of competitions and
 win instant prizes like iPod Nanos, iTunes cards, AAFES theater passes and
 more when they register on the web site. Myairforcelife.com is an
 interactive site that highlights Air Force Services Agency's initiative to
 "live, work, and play." The Air Force's official web site,
 http://www.af.mil/yoaff, contains news information and programs around the
 Air Force.
 
 
* DePLAYment Tag Pass Program Provides Free/Reduced Fee Programs A terrific
 new program is now available to eligible families of deployed members. The
 DePLAYment Tag Pass program is an Air Force Services initiative as part of
 the Year of the Air Force Family. The initiative is designed to provide
 respite and support to the families of deployed members by providing free
 child/youth classes, youth sports programs, as well as free family programs
 for either the family left at home during deployment or upon return of the
 member. All Air Force active duty members with children and/or spouse, upon
 issuance of deployment orders in support of an active Operation, qualify for
 the DePLAYment Tag Pass program. In addition, deployed Air National Guard
 and Air Force Reserve personnel when families are located at a participating
 Air Base upon issuance of deployment orders may qualify. Identified Air
 Force Wounded Warriors (under the AFW2 program) and Families of Fallen
 Warriors also qualify. If a member was deployed between July 2009 and
 December 2009 or returned on or after July 1, 2009, their orders will be
 honored and a DePLAYment Tag Pass authorized. To determine if you qualify
 for the DePLAYment Tag Pass program, contact the Airman & Family Readiness
 Center at 723-3950.
