WWII Veteran to Receive Medals
 
BISMARCK, N.D. - A North Dakota military veteran will receive military medals
 that were earned but not presented for his efforts during WWII. Private 1st
 Class Aloysius J. Moszer will be presented the awards by Gov. John Hoeven and
 Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota National Guard adjutant general.
 The event will take place tonight during a brief ceremony beginning at 7:30
 p.m. at the Bismarck VFW.
 
The media is invited and no coordination is required.
 
Moszer was a member of the North Dakota Army National Guard's Company A,
 164th Infantry Regiment during WWII. They mobilized in February 1941 and the
 unit served until the end of the war in 1945. The 164th was the first Army
 unit to offensively engage the enemy in either theater when they reinforced
 the Marines at Guadalcanal on Oct. 13, 1942.
