Virgil Running Bear will be 62 years old on 11/24.
The absolute highlight of Virgil's life is the fact that he is an old Airborne Soldier. He served with the 82nd Airborne in Vietnam. He never goes anywhere without his Airborne hat & wings.
He is called "Airborne."
"Airborne" is suffering from diabetes & just lost his leg to the disease.
His spirit is high but he's suffered a lot & he's got a tough fight ahead.
Virgil has lived his life rather anonymously. If you have time, please drop a short note, birthday card or get well card to a soldier in need of some TLC or even stop up to see him at the Veterans Hospital if you are in the area.
