Veterans Day 2010

 

 

Dear Veterans and Veteran Supporters,

 

November 11, 2010 will mark the 91^st anniversary of Veterans Day (Known as Armistice day from 1919-1953).  The Veterans Day National Ceremony is held each year on November 11th at Arlington National Cemetery . The ceremony commences precisely at 11:00 a.m. with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by veterans' organizations and remarks from dignitaries. The ceremony is intended to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces.
 
Throughout the state of North Dakota Veteran Service Organizations will be having similar ceremonies to honor and thank the Veterans of our communities.
 
I would like to ask you to

·         Have a moment of silence on at 11AM on 11/11/2010

o        Reflect on those who have fought for our freedom

·         Attend a ceremony in your community.

o        .  For information on Veterans Day ceremonies in your area contact your local County Veteran Service officer at this link: http://www.nd.gov/veterans/officers/county-officers.html or contact your County Court house.

·         THANK A VETERAN for their service.

·         Encourage all veterans and their dependents to visit their County Veteran Service Officer

o        Learn about the services and benefits they may be eligible for.

·         Show Support to your Veterans

o        You can support your local Veteran Service Club http://www.nd.gov/veterans/service/  

o        Donate to the "Support our Veterans"" fund. Tax Deductible.

§         Purchase a Yellow Ribbon Support our Veterans License Plates.
