Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed a bill commending the extraordinary efforts of the people of North Dakota in fighting back the floods that threatened the state this spring.

The resolution honors "their heroic efforts" to hold back rising waters around the state, recognizing that "despite terrible conditions, the people of North Dakota have shown the strength of their shared bond, coming together in large numbers to save their cities, towns, businesses, farms, and ranches."  It also makes clear that Congress "continues to stand with the communities of North Dakota" during the recovery process.

On the House floor I echoed this sentiment and expressed the extreme sense of pride I've felt over the last few months as North Dakotans of all ages and from all walks of life came together and averted a major catastrophe.
