ISFAC: Cody Mormann from Bismarck, active Army -Ft. Carson based

Cody Mormann from Bismarck, active Army -Ft. Carson based

Many of you are aware of Cody Mormann and his injury- but in case not- the family would love more support in lifting his spirits up.

The baseline of his injuries are as follows:

Cody, age 28, is serving his second tour of duty. He was deployed to Afghanistan in February 2009. On July 22, 2009 Cody and four other soldiers were on detail looking for improvised explosive devices called IEDs when one exploded beneath their vehicle. The vehicle went about 60 feet in the air and around 500 lbs. of explosives blew up. Cody, who was driving, was thrown out of the vehicle. They believe that the explosives were detonated remotely due to the fact another vehicle had passed over that very spot.

Two soldiers were killed and Cody along with another soldier was severely injured. Cody was transported to Ramstein Air Base in Germany. He sustained a closed head injury, severe jaw fractures, multiple broken ribs, a punctured lung and four broken vertebrae.
